Wedding Inspirations

You can get married in the morning, afternoon or at night. You can be married in a church, a hall, a yard, at the beach, on top of a mountain. You can have a tea, a dinner, a brunch or a wiener roast. It’s up to you which style is your very own. There are celebrity weddings, country weddings, beach weddings, formal weddings, casual weddings and weddings in the snow. Me personally I like informal. I don’t believe in spending the bank on a wedding. It’s a day to celebrate for sure but your friends and family are all you need.

The art of Sashiko

Very interesting technique.

Have a look at the scrapbook on Onagono’s pinterest page to see more examples of Sashiko.

Since there were 2 pairs of Jimmy’s well worn jeans that have holes on the knees, it was a perfect opportunity for me to experiment the Sashiko technique on them.

I learned how to do it by watching this youtube video. It’s in Japanese but you…

Mother’s Day May 12, 2013

With Mother’s Day fast approaching it’s time to come up with some ideas.  But first I wish to pay a tribute to my own mother who is no longer here.

I know the picture says Nana and that is what she was to my children.  I do miss her every day and lots of ways.  Especially when I have a question about some distant relative or some household tip that I need know but had never thought to ask.  I also miss her on my birthday.  Mom and I were born on the same day.  It’s really is tough on that day for me.  My family have been wonderful at making sure I am kept busy.  Mom you may not be with me but you are always in my heart. Love you Mom.

Here is the link to my Mother’s Day Pintrest Board.

Lots of ideas, fun stuff, Mom pleasing food recipes and DIY for Mom. Enjoy!
